PHASE THREE –ACQUIRE COLTAN MINES
Coltan Mine Acquisitions
In southeastern Colombia, there is geological evidence for
coltan minerals located in the departments of Guainía,
Vichada and Vaupés. Currently Ingeominas is entertaining
exploration and development offers for studies to prove
reserves, and subsequently grant exploitation leases.
Of note, much of the territories of Guainía, Vaupes and
Vichada regions with high potential of this mineral,
correspond to areas of forest reserves or Indian
reservations. In Guainía, specifically, there are parks, which
have delayed some environmental licensing. Currently there
is a declared indigenous mining area and four others under
consideration.
“The Ministry of Mines and Energy by Resolution 180 666
April 2010, Article 4, Chapter 2, Ingeominas delegated the
power to define special areas, which are free to offer to
individuals to conduct a geological technical assessment
program. Furthermore, this entity will coordinate the
process of declaring areas coltan Geological Survey.
Currently, Ingeominas is in the process of declaration of the
special reserve areas in order to proceed with the hiring of
these studies. The company that wins the contract for
technical evaluation, once completed, has the first option
to contract with Ingeominas the area under concession
contracts in the terms set forth in Act 685 of 2001.”- Senor
